The Old Age Pension Scheme is implemented by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Purvanchal, under the State Social Assistance Programme.
Eligibility: residents of Purvanchal aged 60 years and above. One application per eligible citizen. Applications are processed within 15 days as per the Purvanchal Right to Public Services Act; applications not processed within the statutory period stand approved (deemed approval).
Pension amount: Rs. 250 per month, credited by DBT to the applicant's own bank account.
Required at application: a mobile number (for OTP), a bank account in the applicant's name and its IFSC, and one age proof document (Birth certificate, School leaving certificate, Voter ID (EPIC); JPG, PNG or PDF up to 5 MB). Aadhaar is not accepted as proof of age.
One active application per applicant, and each bank account can be used for one applicant only. Families sharing a phone may file up to 3 applications from one mobile number. A pending application can be withdrawn from the status portal and a fresh one submitted.
Applications are accepted until 31 March 2027, 23:59 IST.
